Pay-Per-Lead (PPL)

What is Pay-Per-Lead (PPL)?

Pay-Per-Lead calls come from real customers actively searching online for services. When a customer fills out a form, their information is passed to a publisher who then routes the call directly to our client (the service provider). There are two types of live transfers- call transfers and form fills.

How Billing Works

Clients are charged for inbound calls that meet qualified lead intent criteria.

A call is considered billable when the caller’s reason for contacting your business aligns with the services you provide – regardless of call duration.

A call qualifies as billable when:

    • The caller expresses clear intent for a service you offer
    • The caller is the homeowner or authorized decision maker
    • The caller requests an estimate, quote, appointment, or service details
    • Referral information is successfully provided
    • An appointment is booked
    • A quote is given
    • The call is missed but the caller demonstrated service intent

Examples of Billable Intent

    • “Do you offer…?”
    • “Can you come out for an estimate?”
    • “I need information about…”
    • “I’m looking for someone to help with…”
    • “I’ll give you a call back about this service.”

Call length alone does not determine qualification – intent does.

Disputes & Audits

All inbound calls are reviewed and audited daily by trained quality assurance specialists.

Each call is manually evaluated to ensure it meets the agreed-upon campaign qualification criteria before being approved as billable.

Because every call is reviewed prior to billing, clients do not need to submit formal disputes. If a call does not meet the qualification standards outlined below, it is automatically categorized as non-billable.

Calls Marked Non-Billable

The following call types are excluded from billing:

    • Wrong Number – Caller confirms they reached the wrong business.
    • Spam / Robocalls – Automated messages or irrelevant solicitations.
    • Sales / Vendor Calls – Third-party representatives selling products or services to your business.
    • Wrong Company – Caller intended to reach a different company.
    • Immediate Hang-Ups – Caller disconnects before expressing service intent.
    • Duplicate Calls – Repeat inquiries for the same request within the designated timeframe.
    • Existing or Previous Customers – Calls related to ongoing or past services (unless otherwise agreed upon).
    • Service Not Offered – Caller requests a service outside your approved service list.
    • Out-of-Area Requests – Caller is located outside your approved service territory.
    • Unauthorized Decision Maker – Caller is not the homeowner or authorized decision maker (when required by campaign criteria).

Quality Assurance Process

Our audit team evaluates every call based on:

    • Caller intent
    • Service relevance
    • Geographic eligibility
    • Campaign qualification criteria established during onboarding

Only calls that meet these standards are approved as qualified, billable leads.
